All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To hire a vehicle in Daventry, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary based on the vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for those under 25. A valid full driving licence suited to the vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of current address must be presented, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional criteria specified in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Daventry office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All charges are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Daventry, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed to document this. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, considering only normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. 7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous driving is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must be used only for its intended purpose, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Driving beyond the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Daventry is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
Governing Law in Daventry
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.
